Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan took the stage in Lima Monday, kicking off the Romney campaign's three-day bus tour of the battleground state of Ohio.
Ryan used a powerpoint presentation to explain the nation's $16 trillion debt to the crowd of Allen County supporters.
"Mitt Romney and I aren't going to kick the bucket down the road , we're going to get the budget and debt under control to help the economy.
Ryan took questions from the crowd, told supporters he and Romney would repeal the new health care law and create jobs. Ryan criticized President Obama's proposed defense spending cuts. Specifically it's impact on the Lima tank plant and it's employees.
"We're not going to shut down the only tank plant in America over a budget gimmick."
Lima resident Delores Ernest agreed, "We've got to save General Dynamics and cutting this defense, I just want to cry."
Joanne Reese says. "I'm decided, we need the change. And he seems like he's really going to have the spine, the backbone that we need."
Ryan's bus has already moved out of Lima. His next stop is Tuesday in Cincinnatti.
