Before President Obama took the stage this afternoon in Bowling Green, those inside the Stroh Center lined up outside - all for the chance to hear the current commander-in-chief in person.
Carol Bartley said, "We're from Defiance, Ohio, and we're here to see Barack Obama."
Thousands crowded the parking lot outside the Stroh Center this morning on the campus of Bowling Green State University.
Many were here simply to be in the same room as the President for the first time.
BGSU Junior Alyssa Rybinski said, "I'm really excited. I actually skipped a couple of classes to come here because I thought it was, like, a once in a lifetime opportunity, so I'm really excited."
Those in the crowd come from all walks of life, but this is, after all, a college campus and the students in the crowd want to hear about affordable tuition.
Northwest Ohio is proving important for both candidates heading into the November election.
