TOLEDO, Ohio -

Neighbors in the area surrounding an early-morning police shooting say they're fed up with the crime. Teenager Darrel James Parnell was shot and killed by Officer Ben Cousino after a struggle in the 1300 block of N. Michigan.

It's enough to put any neighborhood on edge. An overnight car break-in that escalates to violence.

Neighbors say the break-ins are happening all too often. Antoinette Cobbly says things have gotten out of control in this neighborhood. She's afraid to leave her kids alone at in their own home.

"I came back home because my kids were scared they were terrified, so I came home from work. At this point right now, I'm ready to move. I have kids and I don't want calls of anything happening to my kids. It's just getting really bad over here."

With the overnight injury of a police officer, Neighbors are remembering Keith Dressel, the Toledo Police Officer shot and killed in the line of duty in 2007.

It happened in this same neighborhood.

Neighbor Joe banks said,  "It was just one block over and a few blocks down. That's ridiculous to kill police, to even fight with police. I don't agree with it and never did. I just feel they should have taken precautions after that, that's a serious issue, they should have taken precaution and started something- a neighborhood watch or something. "

Another neighbor, Derryl Johnson said,  "If it keeps going and the police don't do something about  it, the citizens will probably take matters into their own hands"
