NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio -

Kimberlie Gustwiller is locked up inside the Wood County Jail facing theft charges. North Baltimore Police say Gustwiller falsely claimed to have stage 4 non-Hodgkins's lymphoma.

The entire North Baltimore community threw their support behind Gustwiller.

Many shaved their heads and died their hair pink in support. A benefit for Gustwiller at the L08 salon on Main Street was held last week and a big fundraiser at the North Baltimore Eagles Club was supposed to happen on October 20th.

Now, instead of supporting the Gustwiller fund, the eagles still plan on raising money and are now looking to support a person with a real need.

For Eagles treasurer Gary Bretz, the alleged scam hits close to home. Gustwiller is a relative. And after his family's support, They feel betrayed.

"It's a tough economy, so for anybody to come off with some money to help with this and to have it be a scam, it's frustrating and disappointing to say the least."

North Baltimore Police are still investigating, they are asking anyone who made a donation to call them.

Meanwhile, Gustwiller is being held in the wood county jail and will face a judge monday morning.
