More than 9,000 people in Lucas County are diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
For every diagnosis, 1 in 3 people affected are in a care giving situation. This Sunday in Toledo the Alzheimer's Association is putting on it's "Walk to End Alzheimer's". It's the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's.
Toni Shindler with the Alzheimer's association says, Toledo has always shown big numbers in support for the walk.
"The money that we raise goes to our programs here in a 24 county area and it goes to research on a national level as well", Says Shindler
The Walk to End Alzheimer's is this Sunday at the Lucas County Recreation Center.
Registration starts at 12:30pm, the walk get underway at 2:30pm.
