The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal injury crash that occurred around 6:30am Tuesday morning.
Donald H. Pack, 83, was struck by a 2003 Honda Accord driven by Kristine M. Chudey, 22, on Central Avenue near Hasty Road.
Investigators say Pack, who was wearing dark clothes and a red safety light, was struck and thrown onto the pavement.
Pack was transported to Toledo Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Investigators say alcohol and drugs were not a factor. However, reduced visibility caused by rain, as well as Pack's dark clothing were contributing factors.
