CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference has announced the men's and women's basketball broadcast schedule for its television partners for the 2012-13 season, and the Bowling Green State University women's team will be featured on SportsTime Ohio (STO) in mid-January of 2013.
The Falcons' home game against Toledo will be aired by the Cleveland-based network. That game, on Sunday, Jan. 13, will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Stroh Center.
STO will air a total of 11 MAC regular-season women's basketball games, including a pair of 'wild-card' selections on back-to-back Sundays (Feb. 24 and March 3). The participants for those televised games will be determined approximately 21 days prior to the games.
In addition to the 11-game regular-season women's basketball slate, STO also will air the First Energy MAC Tournament semifinals and championship again this season. The semifinals are set for Friday, March 15, at noon and 2:30 p.m. in downtown Cleveland. The league tourney championship game will start at 1:00 p.m. the following day (Saturday, March 16) at Quicken Loans Arena.
The Falcons, winners of MAC regular-season titles in each of the last eight years, return nine players, including four starters, from a year ago. BGSU went 24-7 overall and 14-2 in league regular-season action, winning the league's regular-season title outright for the seventh time in the last eight years. The Brown and Orange advanced to national postseason play for the eighth-straight March, participating in the WNIT.
