The Ohio State Auditor is revealing some preliminary results of his statewide investigation into attendance scrubbing.
Toledo Public Schools is one of the districts being investigated.
State Auditor, Dave Yost, says Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus, Campbell and Marion City Schools were found to have improperly withdrawn students from their enrollment.
Most were withdrawn due to truancy or not frequently attending classes. In Toledo eight schools were found to have evidence of scrubbing.
Scott High School, Gunckel Park Elementary, Leverette Elementary, Rogers High School, Start High School, East Broadway Elementary, Brindle middle School, and McTigue Elementary.
The investigation is ongoing and the auditor hasn't made any conclusions. He does say the practice of scrubbing can be used to boost state report card scores.
The auditor hopes to have the report and investigation complete by the new year.
