A man has died after being shot during an apparent robbery attempt. It happened Friday around 3 a.m. in a parking lot of the Ravine Park Village, off Seaman Rd.
Toledo police say a man who lives in the complex arrived home and was talking with friends, when three people walked up, pulled out a gun and tried to mug them.
Witnesses overheard a group of people shouting, then gunshots.
After the initial shooting, police say the gunmen ran through the courtyards, continuing to fire rounds into the air.
The victim was struck by a bullet in the leg, near a major artery, according to detectives.
He was taken to a local hospital and immediately underwent surgery. Officers said his prognosis was "bleak." He died at the hospital.
No suspects have been listed. The gunmen remain at large.
