Eighteen-year-old Lindsay Darr has been collecting pop tabs since kindergarten to help raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio.
The organization held its annual Oc-Tab-er Fest Saturday and Lindsay was there with 1,004 pounds of can tabs. She says she doesn't do it alone.
"We have a giant network of family and friends in Progressive Iron and Metal and Burns Iron and Metal and surrounding schools like Old Forest School, Tiffin, Clyde, Fremont and they all helped. And I get tabs as far as Texas, Oklahoma, Washington. It's just amazing."
Over the years, Lindsay had donated more than 4,000 pounds of tabs. The goal of Saturday's even was to bring in more than one million tabs for recycling.
If you have tabs, you can donate them at any McDonald's location in Northwest Ohio or Southeast Michigan.
