1. ERIE COUNTY FATAL
A crash in Erie County killed a Mansfield man. It happened a little after 12:30 this afternoon on State Route 4 at Strecker Road on Groton Township. State troopers say 88-year-old John Klish failed to yield at a stop sign and his car was hit on the driver's side by another car. Both vehicles went off the road and ended up in a field. Klish was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car, 40-year-old Robin Reaves was taken by Lifeflight to Mercy Saint V's with what troopers describe as incapacitating injuries.
2. BX SOLUTIONS JOBS
BX Solutions is hiring 500 seasonal workers for the upcoming holiday season. BX Solutions is a transportation and distribution company based at Toledo Express in the old Bax Global Facility. Manpower is handling the hiring process and hosting a job fair Thursday at the third floor Roost at Fifth Third Field in downtown Toledo. The job fair runs from 11am to 2pm and then from 5pm to 8pm.

(AP) - Ohio's election chief has appealed a ruling by a federal court that reinstates the final three early voting days in the battleground state. Secretary of State Jon Husted today asked the U.S. Supreme Court to make the final decision on whether the state Legislature or federal courts should set Ohio election laws.
4. CASINO REVENUE
(AP) - New figures show that casino wagering in Ohio has declined for the third straight month. The Ohio Casino Control Commission reports that combined wagers in September at casinos in Cleveland and Toledo were $331.8 million, down 5 percent from August's $349.6 million. Wagers dropped 9 percent last month at the Toledo casino to $152.9 million and dipped 1.5 percent in Cleveland to $178.7 million.

5. CAMPAIGNING IN OHIO
(AP) - President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are spending the day campaigning hard in Ohio. The president spoke at Ohio State University calling out, "All right, Buckeyes, we need you." Romney took his campaign north to Cuyahoga County, and was joined by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. A new CNN poll shows Obama leading Romney 51 percent to 47 percent among likely Ohio voters.
6. COMPOUNDING PHARMACIES
(AP) - Two Democratic lawmakers are calling for stricter regulations on compounding pharmacies like the one at the center of a national meningitis outbreak that has sickened at least 119 patients, 11 of them fatally. The outbreak has been linked to contaminated steroid injections produced by a Massachusetts specialty pharmacy. Federal health officials say as many as 13,000 people received steroid shots from the New England Compounding Center of Framingham, Mass.
