Express Volleyball Wins Again

Posted: Updated:

The Express women's soccer team dominated Indiana Tech JV today in a 3-0 shutout victory in which they allowed zero shots on goal.

Jessica Grindle opened the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 12:10 mark of the match. Jill Burkholder would add the team's second goal at the 39:28 mark on an assist from Marissa Ramirez.

The Express took a 2-0 lead into the break.

As Owens controlled possession most of the match, they picked up a late goal from Haley Kreger at the 79:34 mark to seal the win. Kendra Eitniear assisted on the goal.

Kreger's goal was her second of the year, while Grindle's was her third in only five games played. Burkholder's goal was fifth of the year.

The assist from Ramirez was her first of the year, while Eitniear's assist was her third.

The Express have pushed their streak of not allowing a goal to 446 consecutive minutes over the last five matches. Their last goal allowed came against Delta College on Sept. 22 at the 3:09 mark.

The Express improved to 9-2-3 overall. They have two big Region XII matches on the road this weekend. On Saturday, they will take on Kellogg Community College at 1 p.m. before battling Jackson Community College at 12 p.m. on Sunday. They have three matches left in the region, and should they win them all, they would clinch the regular season Region XII championship and be the top seed in the Region XII postseason tournament.
