Winds bring big waves on Great Lakes

Winds are expected to be strong for the next 2 days following a cold front that moved through Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a small craft advisory for the entire Lake Erie shoreline today and tonight. Waves are expected to reach 3-6 feet. There is a Gale Watch on Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. Winds are expected to gust over 35 knots (40 mph). Wave heights could climb up to 15 feet through Thursday.
