Recall on Toft's Ice cream

Posted: Updated:

According to the Sandusky Register Toft's has issued a recall of one of its ice cream flavors.

The recall is for the 48 ounce and three gallon tubs of Buckeye Bites flavor with an expiration on or before March 14th, 2013.

After that date the peanut butter in question is from a different supplier. Initially, the peanut butter inside of Buckeye Bites was from Sunland Incorporated.

That company recently expanded its recall of peanut butter linked to a salmonella outbreak dating back two years. So far, no one has reported becoming sick from Buckeye Bites.

Toft's is headquarted in Sandusky. If you'd like a refund, cut the date out of the ice cream carton or tub and send it to Buckeye Bites, Toft Dairy, P.O. Box 2558, Sandusky, Ohio.
