Teen who posted video on bullying found dead

Posted: Updated:

TORONTO (AP) - Authorities say a 15-year-old British Columbia girl was found dead in an apparent suicide, weeks after posting a haunting YouTube video detailing years of bullying that she said drove her to drugs and alcohol.

Amanda Todd's death is sparking an outpouring of grief and outrage. British Columbia's premier, Christy Clark, posted a YouTube video offering condolences and deploring bullying.

Coroner Barb McLintock said Thursday night that preliminary indications suggest Todd killed herself.

The teen pleaded for help in a 9-minute video posted Sept. 7. She doesn't speak, but holds up a series of notes saying she was lured by a stranger to expose her breasts via webcam. She says the picture was used to torment her on social media.

She said she changed schools repeatedly, but the taunts followed her, and she was physically attacked by classmates.
