A judge has dismissed the murder charges against Cameo Pettaway in the murders of Johnny Clarke and Lisa Straub.  Pettaway was accused killing Straub and Clarke in Straub's parents' Springfield Township home.

Cameo Pettaway, 23, who was acquitted in a double homicide case back in July, was arrested Sunday morning in Oregon, Ohio and charged with felonious assault.

Officials say around 8 a.m. he got into an argument with his live-in girlfriend and Pettaway beat the woman "pretty badly."

Oregon Police Chief Mike Navarre said she had a severe injury to her eye socket and that Pettaway also hit her ribs, body and face with his fist. The report states that the victim called for help after Pettaway fell asleep.

The arrest comes just months after he was acquitted in the murder of Lisa Straub and Johnny Clarke. After a five-day trial, Lucas County Judge James Bates ruled there simply was not enough evidence to convict Pettaway. The other suspect in the case, Samuel Williams, was convicted for the double murder and is now serving life behind bars.

Pettaway was arraigned Monday morning at Oregon Municipal Court.
