Hancock Co. Storm recovery: $5.3M approved for Engineer Complex

Posted: Updated:

FINDLAY, Ohio (WTVG) -- If you live south of Toledo, chances are you remember June 29th.

A summer storm knocked out power and destroyed buildings across our area, including ones at the Hancock County engineer's complex.

Now, money is coming in for a re-build.

The Courier reports commissioners signed off on $5.3M in short-term financing. Five million will pay for the reconstruction of a maintenance garage, three million for a new a salt shed.

The money will come from insurance, plus motor vehicle and gas taxes.

Plans for a new garage had been in the works five years ago, but they were tabled after the major flood in August of 2007.
