Man wins lottery after being dumped

Posted: Updated:

He was dumped by his girlfriend, but now a Massachusetts man has a big reason to celebrate. Sandeep ‘Sunny' Singh won $30.5 million from a Mega Millions quick-pick ticket he bought shortly after the break up.

Singh has been supporting his family since his dad died when he was 14. He is splitting the $61 million jackpot with a lottery player from California.

Singh says he plans to use the money to pay his mom's mortgage, as well as help the rest of his family and donate money to his community.

He says the big win has made him feel a bit better about the break up.

"She broke up with me, but right now, I'm not really worried about it," he says. "I was heartbroken at first, but now I'm getting over it."
