Crystal Bowersox showed her support for President Obama's campaign Saturday in Perrysburg.
The American Idol runner-up and Elliston, Ohio native hosted a canvass kickoff as part of a "Women Decide 2012" initiative.
She says feels it's important to get involved in the election because of the issues women are facing.
"I think the female vote is particularly important because women are increasingly becoming the heads of households. I am the breadwinner in my family."
Bowersox will campaign Sunday at the Obama for America office in Perrysburg at 1 p.m. and will also make an appearance at the campaign office in Bowling Green at 4p.m.
