4-year-old fire victim identified

TOLEDO, Ohio -

The Lucas County Coroner's office has identified the four-year-old boy who died in a fire Friday night as Taevion Maulsby.

Initial reports show the child died of smoke inhalation. Fire officials say the fire started in one of the children's bedrooms in the upper until of a duplex in the 700 block of Vinton Street in Toledo's Old South End.

First responders were initially dispatched on a call for an unconcious child. When they arrived, the found a woman administering CPR on a two-year-old girl and four-year-old boy. Smoke was  smoke coming from one of the bedrooms and fire crews were called out.

A woman, her two-year-old daughter and her 4-year-old nephew Taevion Maulsby were taken to the hospital. Maulsby was pronounced dead.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Officials had no comment on what might have started the fire.

The two-year-old remains hospitalized. Her injuries are believed to be serious.
