NILES, Mich. (AP) - Federal officials are expected to discuss a Michigan train derailment that injured about a dozen people.

The discussion, led by the National Transportation Safety Board, is scheduled for Monday morning in South Bend, Ind.

The Amtrak train was traveling from Chicago to Pontiac, north of Detroit, on Sunday when two of its locomotives and one or more coaches derailed.

About a dozen passengers and crew were hurt in the incident near Niles in southwest Michigan, just north of the Indiana state line. Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said none of the injuries were considered serious or life-threatening.

Magliari said the train was carrying about 174 passengers and four crew members.

The cause of the derailment is being investigated. Amtrak says Monday service through the area is expected to operate
