UPDATE: Random Michigan road shootings

Posted: Updated:

New details after Michigan freeway shootings prompt school shutdowns.

Michigan State Police say the number of random road shootings across the state have increased from 16 to 22.

The Detroit Free Press says the gunman has fired at cars along the Interstate 96 corridor between Metro Detroit and Ingham County.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s.

Police say he's in a dark-colored, late 90's Oldsmobile Alero or Toyota Camry.

Only cars suffered damage, no one has been hurt, and no shootings have occurred since Thursday.

Although there is no evidence schools were a target, some kids were kept off school playgrounds yesterday as a precaution and some commuters changed their routes as police search for the suspect.
