I am so excited to be a part of the best news team in Northwest Ohio! I joined 13abc in September 2012 as a reporter and assignment desk editor. That means I need to know what's going on in the newsroom and the community pretty much at all times. If you call the station at night during the week, you'll probably get me on the phone, so please say hello!
I got my first big break in Elmira, New York at WENY-TV News. It was a small station, so I got to do everything from anchoring and producing our 11 o'clock newscast, to reporting daily stories and even filling in on the weather desk. It was a lot of hats to wear, but it made me a better journalist.
I'm in love with two Tigers teams; one belongs to my hometown of Detroit, and the other to my alma mater, the University of Missouri. At Mizzou, I worked at KOMU-TV and established the foundation of my career. Journalism is about being fair and balanced to the people and places we cover, and I take my job seriously. I know my time at Mizzou helped shape that foundation and my ethics as a reporter.
Outside of work, I love going home to Detroit to visit my family and enjoy Motown favorites like Coney Island, Faygo pop and Better Made chips! I also enjoy spending time with my friends and fiancé, volunteering through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and going to church and Bible study.
If you ever see me out reporting a story or just grocery shopping, please introduce yourself. I love meeting new people all the time, and I am honored to be here in the Glass City!
