Toledo freshman Cat Wells has been removed from the women's basketball team, Head Coach Tricia Cullop announced on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

"Cat has been released officially from our team," Cullop said. "I wish her nothing but the best in the future."

Wells, a 5-foot-5 point guard, averaged 11.9 points, 7.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game as a senior for Notre Dame Academy in Toledo. She led the Eagles to a 23-5 overall record and helped them advance to the state semifinals for the first time in school history. A four-year varsity player and three-year starter, Wells scored 924 career points.

The three-time reigning MAC West Division champion Rockets will play their lone exhibition game vs. Wayne State on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 2:00 p.m. in Savage Arena.
