A University of Toledo Medical Center student is fighting for her life after being shot in St. Louis. Halley Briglia is a fourth year medical student and is in critical condition at St. Louis Hospital.
According to administrators at UT, Briglia is working as a med student in neurology at Washington University in St. Louis.
The 27-year-old was shot in the face during a robbery, according to university officials. She was apparently the victim of a purse snatching, according to reports from KSDK in St. Louis.
It happened Wednesday as she walked to work.
Dr. Jeffrey Gold from UTMC sent a letter to faculty and staff about the incident. Dr. Gold got on a plane Wednesday to see Briglia in person.
