1. CRAIG'S LIST KILLER
(AP) - A jury is deciding the case of an Ohio teenager accused in the slayings of three men lured by phony Craigslist job offers. Prosecutors in Akron concluded their case today by portraying defendant Brogan Rafferty as a full accomplice who knew what he was doing and ignored opportunities to contact police. The now 17-year-old Rafferty could receive a life prison sentence without chance of parole if convicted of aggravated murder.
2. OHIO MOVIE
(AP) - Actor-director Emilio Estevez will shoot a movie about harness racing in the Cincinnati area. It's called "Johnny Longshot" and is set to start filming in January. Ohio development officials say the family-friendly movie will receive an Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit of nearly $3.5 million and will hire about 1,500 cast, crew and extras.
3. BROWNS SOLD
(AP) - The Browns officially belong to Jimmy Haslam. His $1.05 billion purchase of the NFL franchise from Randy Lerner was closed Thursday, just nine days after the sale was approved by the league's owners. Haslam now owns 70 percent of the team, and the truck stop magnate will get the other 30 percent from Lerner in four years.
4. DEADLY STORM
(AP) - According to Cuba's state media, Hurricane Sandy has killed 11 people on the island nation. Sandy, now a Category 2 storm with sustained winds topping 100 mph is blamed for at least 21 deaths overall in the Caribbean.
It's still a few days away, but a potential storm on the East Coast is already being referred to as "Frankenstorm," monstrous, and "The Perfect Storm." Forecasters say Hurricane Sandy, frigid Canadian air and a storm moving from the West could all merge and create severe winds, flooding and even snow. Experts expect extensive damage and utility companies are already lining up repair crews. President Barack Obama has been advised about the storm.
5. UNSEALED DIVORCE TESTIMONY
(AP) - In newly unsealed testimony related to Staples founder Tom Stemberg's divorce, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says he was initially skeptical of the idea for Staples, the office supply chain he now praises as a business success story that he helped create. Romney also acknowledged in testimony in Massachusetts probate court in 1991 that he and other Staples directors created a special class of company stock for Stemberg's then-wife as a "favor" to Stemberg.
6. COSTLY CAMPAIGN
(AP) - The presidential campaign is on track to be costliest in history, with fundraising expected to exceed $2 billion. And that figure doesn't include almost $130 million spent on political ads by non-profit groups that aren't required to file campaign finance reports.
