Warm weather helps some outdoor businesses

Posted: Updated:

Many areas in Northwest Ohio saw beautiful weather on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. And  some local businesses saw a boost because of the temperature spike.

Fleitz Pumpkin Farm in Oregon saw incredible business over the past few warm days.  The owner says it's normal to have steady crowds near Halloween, but he believes it picked up because of warm temperatures.

The expected cold weather over the next few days isn't exactly welcomed, but Fleitz is confident he'll still have lots of customers between now and November first.

"We're always hoping we don't have freezes because it kind of hurts the pumpkins a little bit," Fleitz told 13abc.  "But as long as it's not raining, people bundle up and they come out and have a good time."

"I'm not a winter person myself, so I have to take advantage of the warm weather when we have it," said Lauren Smith, who was out with her three-year-old son Mason on Thursday night.
