The Toledo swimming and diving team will host its first dual meet of the season against Denison Saturday morning. The meet will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the UT Recreation Center located on campus.
Ten freshmen will make their first appearance in a dual meet for Toledo along with Head Coach Chris Peters.
"We're excited to host our first dual meet of the season," Peters said. "We look forward for the opportunity to put our hard work to good use."
The Rockets made their season debut against NCAA opponents two weeks ago at the Tom Stubbs Relays. The exhibition meet consisted of relay-only events and included teams from Akron, Bowling Green and Youngstown State.
In the second event, Toledo's 3x100-yard butterfly relay team swam a meet record 2:52.50, beating the previous record of 2:52.92 set by Eastern Michigan in 2001. UT also captured the 4x100-yard individual medley relay at 4:05.03.
Denison (1-0) enters Saturday's matchup after a second-place finish at the Kenyon Relays last weekend and a 198-47 victory over Malone on Oct. 13. Under 26th-year Head Coach Gregg Parini, the Big Red have 50 consecutive top-10 finishes in the NCAA Division III national rankings.
"We know that Denison has done some great things over the past few years and we look forward to competing against them," Peters said.
