A BGSU faculty member is on paid leave after allegedly assaulting a Toledo police officer.
The Sentinel Tribune reports Stanley Guidera, the chair of the architecture and environmental design department, was put on leave last week and ordered to stay away from campus.
Court documents show Guidera was allegedly highly intoxicated when he hit a Toledo police officer who was directing traffic and then tried to flee the scene.
The faculty member is now facing vehicular assault charges and is due back in court next week.
