Twenty-year-old Jacob Hohman died Saturday evening from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash in Seneca County.
According to the Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Hohman was a passenger in a car driven by Kevin Wertz, 20, of Tiffin.
Mr. Wertz was driving southbound on CR 58 and failed to yield for a stop sign. He lost control of the vehicle, left the road and struck a ditch. The vehicle overturned onto its top.
Also in the vehicle were Rachel Pennington, 20; Alexander Ratchen 18 and Jacob Hohman.
Mr. Hohman was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries and later passed away.
Speed, consumption of alcoholic beverages and a lack of seat belts are believed to be factors in the crash.
