McCain attends storm relief event in BG

Posted: Updated:

The Republican who squared off against then-Senator Obama four years ago made a stop in Northwest Ohio Tuesday.

Senator John McCain attended a storm relief and volunteer appreciation event in Bowling Green Tuesday afternoon.

With a week to go before the election, McCain was also showing his supporter for Senate candidate Josh Mandel, along with the man hoping to take the president's place, Mitt Romney.

"The eyes of the world will be on the state of Ohio," McCain said. "I think we're going to be up late. We see some momentum, a couple of point lead for Mitt Romney, but a lot of it is going to come down to voter turnout.  And that's why we're traveling around to these various volunteer centers, to help get the vote out."
