Group urges voters to vote No - 13abc.com Toledo (OH) News, Weather and Sports

John McAvoy spent today campaigning against the 7 local levies on the November ballot.  Today he concentrated on Toledo Public Schools.

He tells 13abc, "We really wanted them to do a performance audit to prove that they really are good stewards of the tax money and that they really do need this money and what we discovered on these is no."  

McAvoy wants his sign displayed right next to the issue 20 sign at the TPS' administration building. He tells 13abc,  "They are running a campaign an issue 20 campaign out of this building using my tax dollars."

District leaders allowed McAvoy to do it. McAvoy doesn't just have a bone to pick with TPS, his organization, The Northwest Ohio Conservative Coalition wants voters to vote down the Toledo Lucas County Public Library's levy as welL He tells 13abc,  "I don't have the money this year I would rather my levy money go to a police or a fire department if I was going to vote for a levy." 

Then there's the Metroparks levy, He tells 13abc,  "they're expanding capabilities but yet they had no funding for these." and the other 4 levies too,  "you know what we don't see anything on any of these levies that we will support were just basically doing a vote no on all 7 of these property tax levies," McAvoy says enough is enough.  "I am frustrated everyone who sees me with this sign...says thank you how can I help you do this. because we are frustrated because people keep asking me for more money...and I don't have any more money."
