Engineers with Ohio's Office of Coastal Management are evaluating the Lake Erie coastline, looking for signs of erosion or any other damage.
The remnants of Hurricane Sandy churned massive waves in Lake Erie that crashed down on the shoreline. A coastal management spokesperson tells 13abc the good news is Lake Erie's water level was actually 10 inches below average for this time of year. That means the waves didn't go as far inland as the could have.
Experts say residents should inspect their shoreline property. If you have any significant damage, contact the Office of Coastal Management by phone at 419-626-7980 or email at coastal@dnr.state.oh.us.
