    Toledo firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in Toledo. The fire broke out at a home on the 1100 block of Avondale just after 11:30pm Tuesday. Dispatchers tell us heavy flames are showing.

1. VOTE 2012

Former President Bill Clinton campaigned in Northwest Ohio today for Barack Obama. Clinton spoke at Owens Community College and spread the message of getting out the vote. Tomorrow, Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson will be at the Clazel in Bowling Green Friday for a noon rally.

2. TPD APPLICATIONS

People looking to become the newest members of the Toledo Police Department can start applying this weekend. The city will start accepting applications for police officers beginning 8:30am Saturday. People can apply online at the city's website or in person at the fire administration building on Huron Street through November 16th. Test materials will also be available online. The examination is set for December 1st at the Seagate Centre.

3. POWER OUTAGES

(AP) - About 99,000 homes and businesses are still without power in northeast Ohio following this week's storm. FirstEnergy says most of the outages concentrated in Cleveland and the western suburbs. The utility says it hopes to have most of it restored by the end of the weekend.

4. HONDA JOBS

(AP) - Honda says it will make $200 million in new investments at two plants in western Ohio, creating about 200 manufacturing jobs.  The automaker says the expansions for the Anna engine plant and Russells Point transmission plant were announced Thursday to mark Honda's 30th anniversary of auto production in the United States

5. MORE STORM FATALITIES

(AP) - Two young brothers swept from the arms of their mother on New York's Staten Island by the violent sea at the height of Superstorm Sandy have been found dead in a marsh. The boys, 2-and-4-years old, are among at least 90 people killed in the East by the storm.

6. NFL PLAYERS DONATE

(AP) - The NFL and the players' union are combining to donate $1 million to the American Red Cross to help in the recovery efforts in the Northeast after Hurricane Sandy.The league and its network broadcasters will run TV pregame and in-game messages to promote donations during this weekend's games. Green Bay Packers defensive back Charles Woodson donated $100,000.

7. CONSUMER SPENDING UP

(AP) - Americans spent briskly in October before Superstorm Sandy struck. Twenty-one retailers from club operator Costco to department store Macy's reported that sales in October through last Saturday were up 5 percent compared with the year-ago period. That beat estimates by the International Council of Shopping Centers.
