FINDLAY - The University of Findlay football team forced four fumbles and came away with eight sacks in their 38-14 win over Malone University on Saturday, Nov. 3 in Donnell Stadium.

The Oilers, who improved to 6-3 on the season with the victory, kept relentless pressure on Malone's offensive line during the entire game as junior linebacker Trevor Smith led the charge with eight tackles and three sacks.

Senior defensive lineman Richard Sumlin had three tackles for a loss and a pair of sacks while junior defensive back Ray Ballard came away with two sacks and a forced fumble in the game.

Sophomore defensive back Harold Jone-Quartey picked off a pass and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter while sophomore defensive lineman Kevin Brewton recovered two fumbles in the win.

Offensively, senior quarterback Clay Belton threw for 75 yards and a score to become the the all-time single season record holder for passing yards at Findlay with 2,185 yards.  He eclipsed the record of 2,179, which was set by Andrew Beam during the 2009 campaign.

Senior running back Monterae Williams churned out 114 yards and two scores on the ground while red-shirt freshman running back Daiquone Ford sprinted his way to 73 yards on eight carries.

Junior wide receiver Seth White hauled in four catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns while red-shirt freshman quarterback Jesse Slone completed one pass for an 81-yard score.

The Oilers will close their season next week at Walsh University.  The contest is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
