Balanced Attack Leads Lourdes to 33-Point Win over Lawrence Tech

SYLVANIA - Eleven of 13 players found the scoring column on Saturday afternoon for Lourdes as the Gray Wolves picked up their first victory of the season, a 65-32 triumph over Lawrence Tech in the consolation game of the Trent Allen Memorial Tip-off Tournament held at Spring Arbor Fieldhouse in Spring Arbor, Mich.

The Gray Wolves jumped out to a 41-17 lead at intermission behind 52% shooting from the floor and never looked back, building a lead as large as 38 points late in the second half.

"We came out and played really hard today," head coach Andre Smith stated after the game.  "We were very aggressive on defense for 40 minutes."

Leading 16-14 nearly nine minutes into the contest, Lourdes went on a 21-0 run over the next nine minutes to break the game wide open on the way to the 24-point halftime advantage.

The Gray Wolves scored the first seven points of the second half and went on another 13-3 spurt midway through the stanza while coasting to victory.

Alex Davis (Cleveland, Ohio/Nordonia H.S.) led all Lourdes scorers with 13 points while Enique Mason (Indianapolis, Ind./Fishburne Military H.S.) added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Gray Wolves committed just 10 turnovers offensively while shooting better than 45% from the field in the win.

Anthony Sisson led Lawrence Tech (0-3) with eight points as the Blue Devils were held to just 30.6% shooting from the field and committed 21 turnovers.  Lourdes also held a 39-20 advantage on the glass, grabbing 18 offensive boards.

Lourdes (1-1) will return to Tam-o-Shanter on Tuesday evening to host Kuyper in their 2012-2013 home opener.  Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
