Offensive Co-Players of the Week

Cody Latimer, Indiana

So., WR, Dayton, Ohio/Jefferson Township

•           Set or matched career highs in catches, yards and receiving touchdowns to help Indiana to a 24-21 victory over Iowa on Saturday

•           Accounted for all three Hoosier touchdowns, hauling in three scoring passes, which is tied for the second most in a single game in program history

•           Caught seven passes for 113 yards, including receptions of six, 15 and 30 yards that resulted in scores, the latter being the game winner

•           Claims his first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honor

•           Last Indiana Offensive Player of the Week: Ben Chappell (Sept. 20, 2010)

Taylor Martinez, Nebraska

Jr., QB, Corona, Calif./Centennial

•           Guided the Huskers on two fourth-quarter scoring drives, erasing a 10-point deficit in the final frame for a 28-24 victory over Michigan State on Saturday

•           Ran for 205 yards, the seventh 200-yard rushing performance in the Big Ten this season, and touchdown runs of 35 and 71 yards

•           Passed for 160 yards, resulting in 365 yards of total offense, and two touchdowns, including the game winner with six seconds remaining

•           Wins his fifth career Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award and fourth this season, tied for second most in a single season in conference history

•           Last Nebraska Offensive Player of the Week: Taylor Martinez (Oct. 22, 2012)

Defensive Player of the Week

Ryan Shazier, Ohio State

So., LB, Plantation, Fla./Plantation

•           Finished with a game-high 14 tackles, including 11 solo stops, and a pass breakup in Ohio State's 52-22 victory over Illinois on Saturday

•           Recorded two tackles for loss and needs just two tackles to become the first Buckeye sophomore to notch 100 tackles in a season since James Laurinaitis in 2006

•           Was part of the Ohio State defense that limited Illinois to just 170 yards of total offense

•           Takes home his second consecutive Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor and second of his career

Special Teams Player of the Week

Mike Sadler, Michigan State

So., P, Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern

•           Punted seven times for 326 yards, an average of 46.6 yards per punt, against nationally ranked Nebraska on Saturday

•           Placed three punts inside the Huskers' 20-yard line, having landed 42 percent of his punts inside the opponents' 20 this season

•           Wins his second Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week award and first this season

•           Last Michigan State Special Teams Player of the Week: Mike Sadler (Nov. 7, 2011)

Freshman of the Week

Bri'onte Dunn, Ohio State

RB, Canton, Ohio/GlenOak

•           Recorded career highs with 13 rushes and 73 yards and added a touchdown in Ohio State's victory over Illinois on Saturday

•           Scored on a three-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, capping the Buckeyes' scoring output of 52 points

•           Wins his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

    The Big Ten announced its 2014 conference football schedule. Ohio State and Michigan will play each other on November 29. With the new teams involved, the Buckeyes will not play a traditional Big Ten
    The Big Ten will also realign.
