The latest numbers show voter turnout in Lucas county is higher than the 2008 presidential election.
Jon Stainbrook of Lucas County Board of Elections says 52.9% of registered voters have cast a ballot as of 5pm.
Deputy Director Meghan Gallagher says the board had some minor problems this morning. Two out of the 178 polling locations opened 16 minutes late due to "building access issues," according to Gallagher.
At the Springfield Township Hall, serving precincts 2 and 10, 8 out of the 12 voting machines went down the morning. Gallagher says they were quickly fixed and everyone was able to vote.
The Lucas Board of Elections has multiple response teams in place to tackle voter problems. If you have any issues call your local board of elections.
