Democrat Marcy Kaptur has easily won reelection over Republican challenger Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurlzebacher winning 70% of the vote.
Many voters say they expected Kaptur to win the race. She walked into Teamsters Local 20 on Tuesday night to applause and thanked the voters of the newly reconfigured District 9. She will represent all or part or Lucas, Ottawa, Erie, Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties.
"We really have the crown jewels of Ohio. What they have done is they have united the economic powerhouses of this state from east to west and it's a joy to be able to link these communities in a common effort to build our common future."
Kapture will be serving her 16th term in Washington.
