The images of destruction along the east coast are difficult to comprehend, especially after another round of weather has hit.

"You think lightning doesn't strike the same place twice but its hit them a couple of times," Beverly Ridley said.

Ridley wants to help.  After getting a call from a friend wanting to do the same they though they'd send a few supplies to a few friends.

She said, "we started thinking we'd get a generator and some cleaning supplies and a pick-up truck and we ended up with an 18 wheeler."

THe group now has a full blown donation drive on their hands and they need to fill a 53' trailer.  This weekend they're calling on the community to donate non-perishable food items, blankets and anything else that would help storm victims."

"Just by seeing it on TV, its not good," Mike Rood of Bowling Green said.

He's supplied the truck and the trailer.  He's also driving it, some 9 hours east, to help.

"I'm honored that I'm going to be able to go out there and do it," he said. "They asked me if I could help and I didn't hesitate and said yes."

The fuel for the trip has also been donated and they've set up and account for cash donations.

"We're going to use the funds to purchase items to full up the truck," Tari Christoff from Huntington Bank said. " If the truck is already filled we're going to use it to purchase gift cards.

Now the only thing left are the supplies and all are confident the community will step up.

The donation drive is set for this weekend, Friday to Sunday in the parking lot a former gas station across the street from Meijer on East Wooster Street in Bowling Green.

It's open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. all three days.

You can also make donations at and Huntington Bank under the Bowling Green Citizens Relief for the East Coast fund.
