Events honor veterans

TOLEDO, Ohio -

A number of organizations are celebrating Veterans Day and honoring vets with special events on Sunday.

All Andersons locations in the Toledo area will be participating in Operation Respect to properly dispose of worn flags starting at 10 a.m.

Also starting at 10 a.m., there will be a craft and gift show at Holland Gardens at 6530 Angola to benefit Honor Flight.

Members of the Northwest Ohio Peace Coalition and Move to Amend will be commemorating Armistice Day (now called Veterans Day) at Toledo Spain Plaza starting at 11 a.m.

At 7 p.m., the Sylvania Community Orchestra is presenting a special musical tribute to Veterans Day. Everyone is invited to join honored veteran guests at Sylvania Southview High School at 7225 Sylvania Avenue.
