Monroe Police bust pharmacy theft suspects

Posted: Updated:
MONROE, Mich. -

Monroe Police arrested four suspects in a series of break-ins at pharmacies in Michigan.

They say the thieves struck again early Saturday morning, targeting the Yinger pharmacy on Custer Road.

Officers responded to a call of a breaking and entering progress around five in the morning and spotted a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident leaving the area.

Police stopped the vehicle on Front Street near Cooper and a suspect fled on foot. They arrested three other suspects in the vehicle.  They chased down the fleeing suspect and arrested him a short while later.

Officers recovered evidence from the suspects as well as the vehicle they were riding in. All four suspects are from the Ypsillanti area and are suspected of being involved in numerous incidents of breaking and entering in Southeastern Michigan pharmacies.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Det. John Schiappacasse or Det. Sgt. Chris Miller of the Monroe Police Department at 734-243-7500.
