Suspect arrested for murder of Sandra Johnson

Posted: Updated:

The Lenawee County Sheriff's have made an arrest for the murder of Sandra Johnson.

The 63 year old Woodstock Township resident was found murdered last weekend. Her body was discovered early morning on November 17 at the boat launch on Crispell Lake in Jackson County's Liberty Township.

Authorities say evidence at that scene indicated her body had been left at that location. The Lenawee County Sheriff's Office secured her residence after making sure there were no other victims inside.

The Michigan State Police Crime Lab worked with the Lenawee and Jackson Sheriff's Detectives to process evidence at both the boat launch and the victim's residence in Woodstock Township. It was uncertain where the death occurred.

Detectives from the Jackson and Lenawee County Sheriff's Office have worked tirelessly the last few days executing search warrants and interviewing friends and family trying to gather information that would lead them to a suspect.

Wednesday, a Detective from Lenawee County retrieved bank records of the deceased victim. After extensive follow up by Detectives from both departments, the suspect, Steven Storm, 42, was questioned at the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Lenawee County Jail where he was booked and lodged. The investigation indicated the murder took place at the victim's residence in Lenawee County.
