One of the first significant episodes of lake effect snow developed on the heels of the Black Friday morning cold front. Over the past 36 hours, snow flurries and snow showers have left a dusting of snow on some rooftops and parked cars in Toledo. Locally, an accumulation of 0.3" was reported near Bucyrus in Crawford County, Ohio. Outside of our area, 1" to 2.5" reports were common in far northeastern Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania. Some parts of northern Michigan received MUCH more snow, with 14" reported in Twin Lakes, which is in Houghton County.
A few additional flurries may occur late tonight and early on Sunday as a new disturbance passes to our north, producing light accumulations on the other side of the Detroit metro area.
The Monday night / Tuesday storm system is trending south, so it appears that we won't see much of a local impact, beyond perhaps a few snow flurries or snow showers on Monday night.

Portions of Moore, Oklahoma were ravaged by a mile-wide tornado this Monday afternoon. This follows a near-record quiet start to tornado season. Strong storms may reach northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan by Tuesday.
