INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - Lourdes wrapped up play in the Marian Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday evening falling to the host Knights 75-51 at the PE Center in Indianapolis, Ind.
The Gray Wolves shot just 20.7% from the floor, including just 2-of-15 (13.3%) from three-point range in the loss.
"We struggled shooting outside today but we did attack the basket well," head coach Zareth Gray stated after the game. "You have to give them credit, Marian is a very smart basketball team."
Lourdes never led in the contest, but kept the game close throughout most of the first half. Trailing 23-14 with just under six minutes to play before intermission, the Gray Wolves scored nine straight points to tie the game heading into the final two minutes. Marian answered with eight straight points of their own though, and eventually took a 31-25 lead into the locker room.
The game remained close heading into the final eight minutes of the game, as the Gray Wolves were within seven, 48-41. Marian closed the game on a 27-10 run though to put the margin out of reach and capture both games of the holiday tournament.
"We did a lot of good things today and hung tough against a very good team tonight," Gray stated. "We played hard. I'm happy with the effort. This game should help us down the road."
Ty Ali (Chicago, Ill./Rich South H.S.) led the Gray Wolves with 14 points, making 8-of-10 from the free throw line, while Tarynn Hampton (Saint Louis, Mo./Alton H.S.) added 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds, including six on the offensive end. Hampton also had five steals.

"We did a much better job at the free throw line tonight," Gray concluded.
Faith Reece led Marian (5-1) with 16 points while Adrienne Sahm tallied a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Lourdes (3-4) has wrapped up its six-game road trip and will return to action on Wednesday evening, hosting Madonna at Tam-o-Shanter. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
