AAP: Pediatricians obligated to offer contraception to patients

Posted: Updated:

The American Academy of Pediatrics is encouraging physicians to talk about emergency contraception methods like Plan B and Next Choice with both boys and girls.

Pills are available for about $80 with a prescription and some pills are available over the counter for women over the age of 17.

According to the AAP, physicians have an obligation to offer the option to their patients, even if they are morally opposed to emergency contraception.
