30 pot plants found at N.Toledo house fire

TOLEDO, Ohio -

Toledo police say 30 marijuana plants were found in a North Toledo home that caught fire Tuesday morning.

That fire happened in the 3400 block of Doyle around 2:00am Tuesday morning.  Fire fighters found smoke and flames when they arrived at the home.  Investigators believe it started in the family room or the kitchen area.  The home is occupied but no one was at home at the time of the fire.

Toledo police joined the fire department's investigation.  The Toledo fire department had its arson investigator on scene as well.

"Just an ordinary house fire for us in terms of our side of it.  Just one added complication to the matter that involves the police now," said Battalion Chief Bryce Blair.

Police now confirm those 30 plans were the "complication."  Toledo police detectives are still investigating and so far no arrests have been made.
