Privacy status update on Facebook is false

It's gone viral but it's a hoax. Thousands of Facebook users are posting the following status update.

In response to the new Facebook guidelines I hereby declare that my copyright is attached to all of my personal details, illustrations, comics, paintings, photos and videos, etc. (as a result of the Berner Convention).

For commercial use of the above my written consent is needed at all times!

The trouble is this status won't change your privacy settings or "protect" you in any way. The Facebook terms of service and conditions that you clicked on to sign up are still the terms of service you signed up for.

    Toledo firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in Toledo. The fire broke out at a home on the 1100 block of Avondale just after 11:30pm Tuesday. Dispatchers tell us heavy flames are showing.
