Posted: Updated:

Five people are dead after a house fire on TR 124 in Seneca County Tuesday morning.

A truck driver spotted the flames around three a.m. on Tuesday and called for help. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the house was full involved.

Flames quickly reduced the house to nothing more than a pile of debris.

Fire crews found five bodies inside the home. It wan an emotional day for the crews involved in putting out the flames and searching for the victims.

Seneca County Public Information Officer, Dean Henry said, "It is a devastating day and the impact on our community is difficult to imagine."

Volunteers from five departments were on the scene, many of them for almost 12 hours. There are no fire hydrants in the area, so water to fight the fire had to be trucked in.

According to the public information officer, two adults and three children lived in the home.  Officials confirm the bodies of two adults and three children, boys ages six and eight and a 12-year-old girl, were found at the scene.

The children attended Seneca East School District and letters are being sent home with classmates to inform parents of the tragedy. Counseling will be made available for the children in the district.

The state fire marshal's office is on the scene, investigating what sparked the fire.
