Lenawee County Sheriff's Department confirms there was a house explosion near Devil's Lake Thursday evening. It happened near Glenwood Drive and Round Lake Highway.
The explosion is suspected to have been the result of a gas leak. Two homes were destroyed by the blast and ensuing fire.
Both homes are occupied, but no one was home at the time.
Five fire departments responded to the scene.
Witnesses reported hearing the explosion up to two miles away.
